Course Summary
Swim: The event consists of a 1.5km swim in the tidal River Blackwater.
There is a strict 1hr10 Swim Cut-Off due to the changing tide.

Bike: The cycle course takes athletes out of Maldon and onto the quiet, scenic roads of the Dengie Peninsula. Here you will take a right turn in Latchingdon and head East towards Tillingham, before turning back West through the villages of Steeple and Mayland. Upon returning to Latchingdon you’ll take a left and complete the lap three times before heading back towards Maldon. This lightning fast bike course only has 476m of climbing across the whole 87km ride and is bound to leave you with a smile on your face.

Run: The run is completed entirely within the Promenade Park providing a glorious opportunity for spectators to cheer you on. Athletes will run out of transition and head to the promenade where they will follow the river before heading inland and completing three out and back loops. The lap is finished off with a circumnavigation of Maldon’s famous statue of Brithnoth, celebrating the Saxon Battle of Maldon. The surface is a mixture of paved roads, grass and gravel track.
